Trailblazer Robotics Team wins 2024 District Event FIRST Impact Award at Plainfield District Event

The Trailblazers Robotics Team is a high school robotics team located at Tindley Accelerated School in the Avondale Meadows, a Northeast Side neighborhood of Indianapolis, that competes in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition.
Each year teams receive a new game in January then have six weeks to design and build a robot to play that brand new challenge. The robots can be up to 5ft tall, weigh up to 120lbs, and execute tasks like throwing Frisbees across a basketball court or climbing 12ft tall monkey bars!
The team started the season strong, winning the Gracious Professionalism Award at their first event and making it to the playoffs with their robot in both events! Beyond their on-the-field performance, they won the prestigious FIRST Impact Award (previously called the Chairman’s Award) at the Plainfield District Event for their off-the-field community service work and transformative efforts to improve their community with STEM. This is the highest award given out at a FIRST event and has qualified them for State, but they need your help to be able to continue the journey!
The entry fee for the state championship is $4000 and hotel & transportation will be approximately $3000 for the team, so we are trying to raise at least $7000 to make this trip the students have worked so hard to earn a reality. Their goal is to raise $6,721 by next week to ensure this trip is free for all of the students on the team who have worked so hard to earn this opportunity to compete on the largest stage in the state for robotics. They can’t do it without you! They are asking for you to donate $67.21 or more to help them make it to State for their “Turkey State Takeover” fundraiser!
